Sneak Attack Steve

100_0163 Today, Joe, Andy and I met up with our friends Rod and Steve (the main guys that built the Mohican State Forest trail and are currently responsible for maintaining it).

They joined us for lap 1 before heading home.  We always have such a good time riding with them as there is never a dull moment.  Rod cannot stand a girl in front of him (that's right girls, get mad!  He's good at that!) so he jockey's me for position in the group.

Our friend Steve, however, is opposite.  He likes people to think that he doesn't care and he just sits back for the ride.  But I know that he goes out there when no one knows and does some super secret training.  Back in the day, Steve was our secret weapon at 24 hour races, he was super fast (and still is just doesn't reveal his potential).  I've nicknamed him "Sneak Attack Steve" because I think he's training up for a comeback race.

100_0162 Left is a picture of Steve's new ride, a Trek 69er, full suspension.  He really likes it and even upgraded all of the parts, except the front derrailleur.  You just don't do that unless you have plans.

After lap 1, Joe, Andy, Steve Twining and I headed back out.  Steve T. was riding a portion of the trail today and Andy just wanted another 15 miles.  Joe and I did another full lap.  It was our longest ride so far for the year, Joe finished the 48 miles in 4 hours 55 minutes.  And I finished in 5 hours 20 minutes.  Don't know if we'll do 2 laps there anytime soon, but at least we can say we've done it.  Check out the "bikes" and "just riding" pictures for more pictures on the ride.

Hey, think we could get a Mohican Jersey together?

Have the proceeds go to the trail support and maintenence -- I'd buy one!

You're a thinker UBER. I don't know how many people would be interested in that. Maybe we should start with T-Shirts?
