Read the instructions...

100_0145 Because they clearly state "flames should not be shooting from the top or the front of the chimnea."  However, Joe is such a master a fire, he didn't need to read the instructions.

It was just like camping, Joe's outside breaking down pieces of wood to put in the fire, I'm inside (on the computer) and the neighbor notifies us of the noise we're making.  I guess we should be more like him and just build a real chimney into the brick wall of the patio.  I wonder how he got that approved through the board?

Which brings me to my other neighbors.

I live in a condo that was once an apartment back in the 60's, so I have lots of neighbors.  It's amazing how much you can learn about people without even talking to them.  The neighbor that I share a wall with just got surround sound.  The first evening I figured it out, I thought a plane was going to land on our building.  I really don't mind it, as he listens to the same music that I like when he's doing his rock-aerobics, and he's usually in bed by 9pm.

Another neighbor has taken it upon herself to try to catch criminals in the act.  She's mounted a surveillance camera outside of her upstairs window and aimed it to where everyone parks their cars.  The good thing is that she will have them on camera if they do anything.  The bad thing is that the camera is the biggest one I've ever seen, it's white with a big flashing red light on it.  Guess she'd rather just scare them away, either way it's fine with me.  I work under several camera's all day, so I am used to it.  I don't think another neighbor does however.

She's no longer parking in her numbered spot in the "surveillance zone", she's now parking in the un-numbered spot where Joe normally parks.  Now Joe has to park farther down on the other side of all of them and try to avoid the blind lady as he makes his way in.  (the blind lady means well, but you know how neighbors are, they only want to talk your ear off when you're in a hurry, getting home late after a ride and haven't had dinner yet)  Never mess with people when they're hungry!
